The impacts of Chan Zuckerberg ID technology on global health
Journey to the frontlines of global health as researchers use Chan Zuckerberg ID tech to detect the cause of a meningitis outbreak in Bangladesh.
Neurodegenerative disorders, like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s disease, and ALS, are a class of diseases that affect millions of people worldwide. Yet, the causes of most neurodegenerative diseases are only partly understood, and there are no effective therapies to cure, prevent, or even treat most of these disorders.
The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s Neurodegeneration Challenge Network is addressing these gaps by creating a new type of interdisciplinary collaborative research community, one that brings together biologists, computational scientists, engineers, and physicians from across broad research areas to solve neurodegeneration. Challenge Network researchers bring new ideas and perspectives to finding treatments for neurodegenerative disorders while also working to understand the fundamental biology of these diseases.
By supporting innovative ideas and forging new types of collaboration, the Challenge Network is much more than the sum of its parts. Watch the video to learn more.
