Patrick Ayscue, D.V.M.

Senior Biosecurity Fellow

Patrick Ayscue is an applied epidemiologist on the Rapid Response team with over 10 years of experience in infectious disease outbreak response, surveillance, and analysis. He leads a joint infectious disease program across CZ Biohub and CZI, working with product development, research, and outbreak response teams to deliver cutting-edge technology to the frontlines of pathogen surveillance and research. He previously worked as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where he was deployed to Liberia during the West Africa Ebola virus outbreak. As the Director of Government Programs at Metabiota, Inc. he led a team of international scientists building capacity and designing research studies in biosurveillance, biosafety, and biosecurity. He holds a D.V.M. from Cornell University where he also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in quantitative epidemiology sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
